Building a Wardrobe

When it comes to building your wardrobe, you need to see what you have and what you need.wardrobe

Evaluate your Closet

There are many people out there that don’t even know what they have in their closets. You need to have a look so that you know what you are working with. You may find that you only need a small addition to your wardrobe or you may find that you need a lot.

Take a notebook and write down in columns what you have. Make a column for staples that will include pencil skirts, flare skirts, denim, blouses etc. once you have made your list you can evaluate what you need and what you don’t need.

To Keep or Not to Keep

When it comes to building a wardrobe you will also need to know what you need to keep and what you should throw out. If you have certain pieces that you love then keep them.

Budget Wisely

Wardrobes are not built in a day, as it can take years to get your wardrobe to where you want it and you will constantly be updating it. You should make a 12-month plan and a budget. You also don’t need a large budget every month, you can buy just one piece every month, but that one piece will go towards creating your wardrobe.

Shopping

In order to maximize your shopping time, you need to have a good idea of what you need. You need to prioritize your pieces so that you can get them according to urgency. You can prioritize according to what you wear weekly so that you can coordinate with other pieces. Also don’t rush out and buy as this will lead to impulse buying and regret. Rather just buy one or two pieces that you love so you stay on budget and because you love them then you are more likely to wear them a lot. This adds true value to your wardrobe.
